First Road Trip

California is one of the states that is suitable for costal road trip.

Haotian, Songxin, Jing and I, three of us are new drivers, one doesn't know how to drive, were attracted by its beauty and decided to conquer it during our last Spring Break.

Since I have relatively "rich" experience on driving, I was selected as the major driver during our California State Route 1.

Departing from San Francisco where I greatly admired the style of buildings, but was surprised by its steep streets, we first arrived Monterey to spend one night for following long-time driving.

"I've heard that some accidents happened in California State Route 1. Are you guys familiar with driving skills? If not, I would suggest you go highways," the Airbnb landlord told us that night.

To be honest, it shaken my confidence a little bit.

"Are we sure to drive California State Route 1 one day tomorrow?" I put forward my concern before we sleep.

"That's the spirit of our trip," my friends responded solidly.

Therefore, we got up around 6 the other day and started our journey.

Controlling the steering wheel literally was a big challenge since the route has many dangerous turns, and the road is not as wide as normal road I drove before.

However, the view there deserved all our hard driving. Countless cliffs close to the sea, endless ocean and sky connecting a line, sea-gulls flying in group, and even the narrow roads attracted our eyes. So we stopped several times getting out of car to experience the beauty that we "earned."

Until 6 p.m. that day, we finally got to Santa Barbara, another beautiful costal city within plenty of milk-white buildings. It didn't have many attractive tourism places to go, but gave me a sense of security and relaxation.

After twelve hours, we conquered the route!! I have to admit if we didn't achieve this, I would regret for the whole trip. Thank you for my three friends companied me to drive the long way and create unique memory there!!
