Xiamen is one of my best cities in China. I visited there once with my mom when I was a kid. I love the sea there since I can't see the end of it. When I stands near it, I will be surprised by the grandness of the nature and feel how small humans are. That's a special feeling this city brings to me, and that's why I want to visit here again with my best friend, Xuemin, in high school.
This is not a two-person trip. Because her little brother just graduated from his junior school, we three decided to go to my wonderland again.
Xiamen is a port city on China’s southeast coast, across a strait from Taiwan. We decided to take a boat to have a look at Taiwan from the nearest side in our mainland.
Since it was summer break, Xiamen as the most famous tourism city was a little busier at that time. So when we went to the boat, we couldn't even find a seat there. And because Xuemin needed to take care of her brother, she carried a big backpack with her which cost her more energy than us. When the boat started to jolt, she gradually felt uncomfortable and exhausted. The only thing I did was to hold her hand tightly. Fortunately, the boat trip was not too long, and we also had the chance to say hi to Taiwanese in the other side from our boat.
"That really support me although my hand was hurt at that time," when Xuemin recovered from the sickness of the ship, she joked me as a response to express her thankfulness. That's her way based on my knowledge of her.

Besides the sea trip part, we went to the real ocean by foot, as well. I could literally feel the sand going through my toes. The familiar but strange feeling recalled my childhood memory when I was walking with my mom in the late night to our hotel. There were no taxies or buses, so we walked a long distance. However, what I remembered were the stars spreading through the sky.
